THE HITMAKING DUO’S FIRST COLLABORATION SINCE THEIR HISTORIC GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING, BEST-SELLING SINGLE OF 1998 “THE BOY IS MINE”
“It All Belongs To Me” appears on Monica’s brand new album NEW LIFE available March 6 and Brandy’s forthcoming, yet-to-be titled album set for release this Spring Track written and produced by Rico Love
(New York - January 17, 2012) Multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winners Monica and Brandy have teamed up in the studio once again to recreate history with their brand new single, “It All Belongs To Me,” set for release on February 6th on RCA Records. Written and produced by Rico Love (Usher, Beyonce, Chris Brown), the poignant song reunites these young powerhouse vocalists for the first time since their massive smash single, “The Boy Is Mine.”
Monica and Brandy both tweeted news of their collaboration from the studio in Miami kicking off an avalanche of excitement in the blogosphere.
It’s been 14 years since the then-teenage duo released their monumental collaboration, “The Boy is Mine,” which held the #1 spot on the Hot 100 Chart for 13 weeks, won the Grammy for R&B Performance by A Duo or Group, and was declared the best-selling song of 1998.
“It All Belongs to Me” will appear on Monica’s NEW LIFE album scheduled for release on March 6th (RCA) and Brandy’s yet-to-be-titled RCA/Chameleon debut to be released this Spring.I am so excited for this single. I'm over the moon and relieved that this is FINALLY happening for B. Even though I'm an not happy with the first single choice it's self, I'm happy It's finally going down.
I do not think this will be more successful than "The Boy Is Mine" but I do think that this most certainly will be EPIC!
***A lot of people are saying that this hype is for Monica's album and not Brandy's. Excuse me but when was it OK for anybody to use Brandy for anything!!?
I do not think the label would do that nor would I think Brandy and her people would give the O.K. for this hype build up just for Monica. It's a duet. With two artists. I would think that being on the same record label, they would do this to benefit BOTH artists.
This is the first time RCA OFFICIALLY named a title of ANYTHING from Brandy, so I would think that the first time they would officially release a statement on a track, THAT would be the first single.
I don't understand or can see why a record label would release a statement on a 2nd or 3rd single before the first is even announced.
